“Anything for Love: Out-of-the-Box Approaches to Dating” was developed, reported and designed by Jenn Rubin, a graduate student at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication, as her master's thesis in online journalism.
Using articles, videos, slideshows and other multimedia, the project brings to light some of the unique ways couples meet outside of bar and club scenes, set-ups by friends and mainstream online dating sites. Additional sidebar features introduce readers to facts and figures about modern-day romance and the best places for singles in America.
Special thanks to USC faculty and thesis committee members Bryce Nelson, Robert Lopez and Nitin Kale for all their support, instruction and guidance.
Jenn Rubin will graduate in May 2009 with a master’s degree in online journalism. During her time at USC, she has freelanced for Citysearch.com and CBS 2/KCAL 9 Los Angeles.
Prior to moving to the West Coast, Jenn worked as the Web Producer at Boston’s NBC affiliate, WHDH-TV. Earlier, while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in art history from Brandeis University, she interned for two years at Boston.com, the Web site for The Boston Globe, and also reported for several Community Newspaper Company publications.
Jenn’s hobbies include going to the latest exhibits at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, baking apple pie and cheering on her beloved Boston Red Sox.
